Fred Freeman

Fred  Freeman is a recently retired Chief of Police of a City in Los Angeles County and former Mayor and City Council Member of Los Alamitos. He served as the President of the South East Los Angeles County Chief’s of Police Association for 2 terms, and was an active member of the Los Angeles County Police Chief’s Association from 1995 to 2000. Fred is a 1995 graduate of the FBI National Academy, and is a current member of the FBI National Academy Associates Association. During Fred’s 20-year tenure in Law Enforcement, he has served as a Police Officer, Deputy Sheriff, Detective, Corporal, Sergeant, Detective Sergeant, Lieutenant, Commander and Chief of Police. He has served in large and medium sized Law Enforcement organizations in both Los Angeles and Orange Counties.

Fred also works actively in the community, serving as the President of the Beckstrand Cancer Foundation, and as Regional Commissioner of the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO), serving the local youth of the Greater Los Alamitos area, with over 2000 athletes between the ages of five to sixteen, playing year-round soccer.

Fred is the President of the FREEMAN INVESTIGATIVE GROUP, INC. based in Los Alamitos; the firm specializes in conducting complex and confidential personnel and internal affairs investigations on behalf of various governmental and private agencies. He also conducts Threat Assessment and Mitigation in the public and private sectors. The firm also assists police agencies and cities providing consulting on various public safety issues.

Brief History
 
During World War II, the US Naval Air Station moved its aircraft training field from Terminal Island to Los Alamitos. It employed thousands of people, and it spurred growth. In 1973, the base was designated an Armed Forces Reserve Center. Today, it is a reserve support center for units of the Army, Navy, National Guard and Marines.(Previous information from Orange County.net)
