Deputy Chairman of Magnolia Harry Sidhu |
Harry Sidhu, P.E., is the Deputy Chairman for the City of Anaheim. He was elected to the Anaheim City Council in November 2004. Prior to his election, Harry served as Chairman of the City of Anaheim Budget Committee.
He was recently installed as 4th District At-Large Representative to the Executive Steering Committee, Orange County Division, League of California Cities, and appointed as a member of the Orange County Vector Control District Board of Trustees. Harry is also a member of the Orange County Sanitation District and the City of Anaheim Audit Committee.
Harry is an Anaheim resident and leader who cares deeply about his community and the people living in it. He ran for Anaheim City Council because he is dedicated to making Anaheim the very best place in which to live and conduct business, not just visit. Harry is honored to have been elected to serve as an Anaheim City Council Member - the first person of Indian heritage to have achieved this position.
Having been born and raised in India, Harry immigrated to the United States in 1974 with his parents as a permanent resident. They settled in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he completed his education and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University. In 1977, Harry became a United States citizen, and in 1981, he left the Philadelphia area and moved to California where he began his professional life as a consulting engineer with Rockwell International and General Dynamics, and as a U.S. Defense Industry Engineer for Hughes Aircraft. A substantial part of his work at these companies involved responsibility for construction and development of new buildings and structures. During that period, Harry became a licensed Professional Engineer - a Registered Mechanical Engineer in the State of California, and obtained a General Contractor's License (B). He is also a licensed California Real Estate Broker.
