From 1992-1996, Frank Ury served on the Saddleback Valley Unified School District (SVUSD) Board of Trustees. From this position he was appointed to the California State Standards Commission by the State Legislature, where he worked on crafting math and history standards for all California students. He also served on the State Technology Commission, developing methodologies for the utilization of technology in the classroom and dispensing grant money for technology in the state. He is a past member of the Orange County Republican Central Committee and the California Republican Party State Central Committee. His work in education earned him the "Local Elected Official of the Year Award" from the County Republican Party in 1995 and the "Defender of Freedom Award" from the State Republican Party in 1996.
A California native, Frank earned his BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, his MS in Electrical Engineering at the University of Southern California and his MBA from UC Irvine. He currently is an Engineering Director for Intel Corporation.
Frank is currently a member of Mission Viejo's City Council.
