Sergeant Major Juan M Hidalgo Jr.Born and raised in Southern California, Sergeant Juan M Hidalgo Jr.,enlisted in the Marine Corp in 1984 and was at Camp Pendleton.In 2003 he was part of 'Operation Iraqi Freedom' and from 2013 to 2015 was stationed at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. He retired from active duty in October 2015 after 31 years of service to his country.
He supports a strong, well armed, well trained military. "Peace through Strength" and is currently running for Congress in San Diego.

Cal State Fullerton continues to celebrate our 60th anniversary
with a special moderated discussion with Robert Gates, Secretary of Defense (2006-2011). Dr. Gates, who served as CIA director and President of Texas A&M University, draws on years of exceptional experience to offer an informative and pragmatic look at leadership and international relations.
CSUF will also honor alumnus and longtime university advocate Congressman Ed Royce, who retires this year after 13 terms in the United States Congress.
